Contribution is measured in answers marked helpful, not in post count.

“I joined to get one portfolio review and stayed because I ended up giving forty of them. You learn more critiquing than being critiqued.”

Why people stay

Small enough to be known, big enough to be useful

A community is only as good as the reason people come back.

“I have been in eleven Slack groups that died. This one has moderators who actually moderate, and it shows in every thread.”
D
Dan Whitfield
Engineering lead, Northgate
“The median first reply is under three hours. I have asked genuinely obscure questions and still had a real answer by lunch.”
N
Nadia Ferreira
Independent consultant
“It is the only forum I know where saying "this failed and here is the invoice to prove it" gets upvoted rather than pitied.”

Questions

Before you join

The things people ask us most often.

Every discussion is publicly readable, which is deliberate — good answers should be findable. Posting, replying and voting require a membership, which is what keeps the signal high and the moderators paid.

Threads here are permanent, votable and searchable. Nothing scrolls away. A question answered in 2029 still turns up when someone hits the same problem in 2032, which is the whole point.

Each channel has two or three volunteer moderators drawn from its own members, plus a paid moderator on call during weekdays. The guidelines are short, published, and enforced consistently rather than selectively.

Yes, from your account settings, and your posts stay up. Cancelling drops you back to Reader access rather than deleting your history — the threads you helped with belong to everyone who reads them.

No to both. Membership fees are the only revenue, which is why the pricing page is unusually honest about what the money pays for.
